It’s Tuesday. It’s ordinary. No wait. It’s EXTRA ordinary.

God. Blogging is so indulgent.
1. The curve of Henry’s belly in his too tight Thomas pajamas as he pushes around a measuring cup in the mini-stroller.
2. The heat pouring in the window from the blinding sun, mixed with coffee and oatmeal for breakfast. Taking off my sweatshirt and sitting here my tank top and jeans feeling as casually cool as LeLaina from Reality Bites — if only for one second.
3. Reading my kid his report card and then watching a smile slowly blossom across his face as he realized that he was proud of himself.

I love Lelaina. And Reality Bites. I think it came out the year I graduated high school? And I wanted to be her. “Casually cool” is right. Sigh. One of my most favorites, definitely.
Ordinary moment, a week late: My daughter reading to me last night and sounding out the word “ramshackle” all by herself. How HARD I had to fight the urge to say it for her. But she did it herself, one letter at a time. We high-fived each other when she was done.
